Privacy
Your files are never uploaded. The check runs entirely in your browser using code we send to you. Your file does not reach our servers, so there is nothing for us to store, delete, hand over, or use for training. This is not a policy we ask you to trust — open your browser's network tab during a scan and see for yourself.
What we do record
Outside scanner pages, Google Analytics may collect audience and usage data after your explicit statistics consent. The Google tag is not loaded before consent. Filenames, file contents, file hashes and scan results are never sent to Analytics. Ordinary web server access logs also apply.
Files, hashes and scan results are never passed to Analytics. Direct scanner visits retain their same-origin connection policy.
The local scanner
Runs on your machine and makes no network requests at all during a scan. Use it if you want to check a sensitive file with the network switched off entirely.
Voluntary support
The support page may redirect to Mollie's hosted checkout. Provenance Lens does not receive or store card or account details. Mollie's own privacy information applies to the payment.
Contact form and spam protection
The contact form transmits only the contact details and message you enter. It accepts no file attachments. A honeypot, minimum completion time, origin check, size limit and IP-based rate limit reduce automated abuse. For that limit, the client address is held in application memory for no more than one hour and is not included in the contact email. An optional self-hosted Cap human check may also be enabled; form content is not sent to an advertising or analytics CAPTCHA provider.
